  1. Hilarious piece of shit.. Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder.. The OP had asked what's the best choice out of the 4, not what's the most beautiful, so you giving him advice based on your perception of the look of the car is bloody wrong... plus, it is because of people like you that certain car models go underrated in this country.. and you should know that fuel figures from car to car differs even if it's the same model..
  2. Dude seriously? @NRX will share some insights on the N16
  3. The previous owner of my car put some chinese brands and gave me... I drove only 6000km now with the new tyres, and they are already worn out as the car pulls to a side even though alignment and all are done perfectly...
  4. Even after the wheel alignment the car slides to the right side while the steering wheel is straight.. crossed the two front tires temporarily to check if its due to the inner/outer tire wear as one front tire's inner or outer part was worn..after crossing the tyres, the car started to slide to the left.. if i cross the front tires with the rear tyres, will this solve the issue of car sliding towards a side? or do I have to replace both front tyres.. its not even a year since the car hard new tyres.. (a chinese brand though)

Happened to me when I swapped the front tires with the rear ones just for the kicks. Then realized the rear ones were a bit worn off in the outer side ( was it inner ? can't remember ). Had to swap again to the original position and presto!

My guess is the tires in the back were used in the front while the alignment was off, and it was put to the rear after an alignment was done and the sliding was noticed.

cant remember if it was inner or outer.. in my case, the same tires were used before and after the alignment to the front....the rack of the car was not good so I made the rack too and still the issue is there... less than a year if the tire is wearing out like this that's an issue noh? :/

  5. ok thanks, will get them checked
  6. yes yesterday also I took it and he said the same... so thought of changing the pads next week...
  7. I thought so too, and like a month back the mechanic said the brake pads are in good condition though and can be used some more...
  8. Hi guys, Need some advice After I apply brakes, and very slowly accelerate or dont accelerate at all, I get humming noise after releasing the brakes.. sometimes the noise is bigger, I feel in from under my door... However if I accelerate fast I dont hear that noise... its like a squeeky humming noise (like a horn hunking from faraway)... and also not everytime i apply brakes and accelerate this noise comes...like 75% of the time only this comes when accelerating slow... apart from that, when I press on the brake paddle I get a different squeey noise like "creeeeeek" and that noise only at the moment I apply brakes... this noise was there from a long time though.. but the other noise after releasing the brake came recently. what would be the cause for this issue?

  13. the problem is if the injector cleaning is needed you have to again go to another place and clean the injectors.. so another cost to that place needs to be given... most good tuneup places does injector cleaning.. for example some mechanics who used to work the Nissan company does the complete tuneup, and they are very good... once I went to Ravi at kelaniya.. for the whole tuneup including injector cleanup he takes only Rs.1800/- and does a solid job.. there is another guy called dharshana who worked for Nissan in mabole.. he does all the cars.. he takes Rs. 6500/- though.. I have been to all three of them for my 2 Preseas... (Dhammika, Ravi and Dharshana).. My first recommendation would be dharshana though...because I initially had a miss in my car and it didnt go away after the tuneup at dhammika... but after taking it to dharshana it was fixed...
  14. I don't understand...isnt spending millions for a hybrid for lower fuel consumption and spending less for a non hybrid and save that rest of that money for the fuel is the same? plus for hybrid somewhere down the line you have to spend more to replace a battery too... so the whole plot of buying a hybrid is lost there... isnt it? correct me if im wrong...

  16. Just want to know... does the distributor cap has an effect on oil reducing or burning? Few months back a mechanic told me to replace the distributor cap.. I really cant remember why he said that, as I remember he said something like, some gum or sealant has been pasted over the 4 rings of the distributor cap and therefore change it.. however i didnt replace it, and i experienced a little bit of an oil reducing during the past 2 weeks.. I'm wondering if this distributor cap is the culprit for this... however I don't know whats the oil brand the previous owner used.. I did my service at A*W and they used castrol, and the mileage is 131.. im using the same thing for the refill.. however I refilled a whole 1 litre into the oil tank.. and 4 weeks back I also did a 380... should I be worried ?
  17. anyone got any explanations for this?
  18. While checking the oil limit, the rubber piece fixed to the top of the dipstick loosened itself and got stuck inside the pump where the dipstick is fitted..now i cant pull the dipstick off as that rubber piece is stuck between the pump and the stick.. whats the worse that could happen now? do I have to remove most of the engine parts to take that thing off the pump?

Oh no,no not at all> Remember I did use the adjective IF and I would hate for anything to happen to a fellow Autolankan!  Besides how else would AL be so much fun if you weren't around getting your rubbers stick in every nook and crevice, and stalking random aunties in Presea's etc... But IF you DID kick the bucket then...:D

  24. Majority won't appreciate but I think the appreciation of old vehicles will be high among the rest... they dont make beautiful cars anymore like the 90's.. nowadays all the new cars are hideous and all made for commercial purposes..
