Have you tried resetting it?There should be a pin sized hole somewhere on the front panel.Put a paper clip through it and hold for a few seconds.OR there is a button sequence to reset it.Refer the manual.

didn't find any holes in the player :(

Like Md said there should be one, similar to the one you find on pc cd rom's

Anyway sounds like a mechanical failure of one of the motors so if you are a little daring pick up a screw driver and take the unit off the dash, open it and see whats what. Dont worry it wont blow up lol, if you can post the pics of the inside i might be able to help as well
