hi everybody - Good day

I have a Axio X. The audio/video display unit is in Japanese and honestly I have problems in operating same. Can anyone please help with:

a) Is there a english manual available.

B) The FM range is upto 90 only. Are they any gadgets available to increase the range.

c) The GPS unit says no map and then refuses to go back on menus.

Appreciate anyones valuable advise on this.

You shouldn't have bought an Axio in the first place... :) The Micro range of cars have all instructions in Sinhalese and Tamil. So there is no worry for you to learn Japanese.

But if I were you, I would take my car to Pet#o and get them to sort it out for you.

a) There is no English manuals available AFIK for those Japanese Domestic Navigation Systems and most importantly, can not change language settings. You have to learn by your self by operating the panel.

B) Simply buy a FM Frequency converter from any electronic shop and fix. It will do the rest. But Quality of sound is not guaranteed.

c) If you disconnect the battery terminals, it will reset to the factory default and searching for map installation CD/DVD. If it is not available, then displays a message "Please insert the correct map CD". Try to search over the internet or other method to find the correct CD. This will rectify the problem.

Tks mate. There is Pet#o and also Sun Lanka and a couple of places at Kadawatha who can replace the Audio/Video with a full fit to Axio and also has the bluetooth and the full fm range.

for point 'b', there are places that actually change the frequency range to 88-108, but considering all the other issues u have, it might make more sense to just get a new unit.

OR, the free solution is to get used to 89.5 Yes FM :D

1- a place on highlevel road between nugegoda junction and balapukuna road. Kinda opposite Railway Av. They were around about 12 years ago but havent been to them in a while so nt too sure if they're still around.

2- Tania & Tamara off Nawala Road, once offered this service I remember. Call em up n see. (no, i dont have their number)

Actually Peri, T&T were one of the best electronic repair places around. The staff there knew their stuff. No nonsense repair jobs with a reasonable bill and a warranty. Not sure if they are in existence anymore. Last time I got something done was about 5 years ago and the repaired TV still works. They were in Elivitigala mawatha, opposit the ACCA/Thimbirigasyaya color-lights.

Their work's decent. But they have bigger issues. They never deliver on the promised date, and that too after lies and lies about technicians falling sick, waiting for parts prices, waiting for inventory. You need To keep calling them up and yelling at them to the ground to even get them to attend to your repair. Then their prices too have gone up quite a bit. So unless I have no other choice, I wouldn't go to them again. But thankfully my mom found a small timer who does good work at a decent prices and in a timely manner.

On which planet is your comment helpful?

What you said is like:

Scene 1: At Dude's residence:

Somalatha (Dude's wife): My car won't start. What shall I do?

Dude: Easy, try and start it.

Somalatha: OMG, dude, didn't think of that, I was planning to just stare at it or start an AL forum thread and see if that helped.

Dude: No, no, you gotta try to start it, stupid.

Somalatha: Still won't start.

Dude: Try harder.

Somalatha: Wish I had your brain Dude. When you die can I pickle your brain and worship it?

Dude: If you want to do that, you'll have to pickle it.

Somalatha: Holy crap, didn't think of that.

Hi Dude,

Did you managed to get your device language changed?

If so can we have a copy of the English version software or any URL where we could download?

Thanks

Thilak
