Posted

Friends

Any body who has recently bought Montero Sport 2.5L Diesel for permits. I am interested to know the fuel consumption comfort details. So far my researches from the web is it will do around 9kmpl. Is this true. Some says it is over 14kmpl. Can any one owns give me the exact figures. If possible X-Trail diesel also. models after 2009.

thanks

a 2.5l diesel with a manual box will roughly do about 10-12 in colombo kinda driving with ac on and more on open roads. 14kmpl might be possible

I am talking about brand new imported by agent for the permits. All comments received to me by rumors only. I wanted to get a real comment from a owner or a user who has driven it for some time.

Thanks

how much would it cost with the permit??

Is it a common rail diesel that they offer? if so, efficiency levels should be high

Yes it is.

mate 7.2Kmpl is in city or long run. Is this your experience? Lot of people complain that this vehicle is very low on fuel and some says better to go for a petrol one.

You sure about that? Have the big brother with a 3.2 litre triptronic and does 7-8kmpl. Running on auto that is.

Did the new sport retain the 4D56? Is it DiD?

Chairman of SMI Bank is using a Mitsubishi Montero sport 2011 diesel 2500cc(permit model).I asked from the driver about the fuel consumption he told in city limits its 7.2 Km/l WITHOUT 3rd row A/C.

So if the new Thailand one is only doing 7.2kmpl is best for me to stick to my Japanese one that does 10kmpl in Colombo.

Thanks for the info now I'm going to rethink about my decision to go for the new one.

Thats very scaring figure. If driver is not manipulating the figures for his own benefit this is a useless vehicle. Do we have any other updates from the members. Thanks for your effort man.

You have to keep in mind, this is a V*P's vehicle that is used by a chauffeur. Chances are quite good it spends lots of time with the engine running to keep the AC going while standing still.

I also ws able to get hold of a permit and planning on buying a nisan xtrail... any idea why the A*W is not bringing it?

I'm planning to get it via an agency who does that...

its a Di d engine and japanese made one..

i would prefer that over montero sports..

The x-trail is not brought down by the agents due to a diesel issue,

Our diesels (even super) isn't suitable for their dCi engine.

By the way The new montero sport is not made in Japan.

I was going to bring down a 2011 montero sport but when I knew it is made in Thailand I changed my mind,

Now I'm waiting for some other vehicles that are coming round the corner including the A4 diesel, including a Toyota SUV(which I'm not interested in)

I'm also thinking of waiting till the new 320d comes. If i buy one now I'll be disappointed after it shows up

What is the price of Xtrial diesel for the permit you got. very few vehicles are there which came for tsunami rehabilitation work. Agent has no interest for the vehicle.

Further I noticed that Xtrail is on clean diesel and I dont think it will be suit to sri lanka. Also the price range will not come to permit limits.

Some importers (non agent ) r bringing them down, so they r in permit limit,

But from my xperiance using a petrol one,

It is pretty hard to sell, I've seen good diesel ones in car sales for ages (not sold) with reasonable price tags

I got a quote from Toyota agent and they gave a corolla diesel manual one for 4.1M. But it says delivery is around 6 to 7 months. Are they going to start the design based on my confirmation?

around 6 to 7 months is good when comparing to a 1yr wait at hyundai, kia,

Does this mean that the demand for Korean vehicles have exceeded that of toyota in sri lanka .

It means the Toyota agent is managing their inventory better than the Hyundair / Kia agents. From what I know Hyundai owns Kia
