Fuel Consumption Of Montero Sport 2.5L Diesel

Any body who has recently bought Montero Sport 2.5L Diesel for permits. I am interested to know the fuel consumption comfort details. So far my researches from the web is it will do around 9kmpl. Is this true. Some says it is over 14kmpl. Can any one owns give me the exact figures. If possible X-Trail diesel also. models after 2009.

I don't understand why anyone who can afford a Montero Sport diesel would be so concerned about the fuel consumption. My old van did only about 8-9 in Colombo and I wasn't anal about it.

Most of the Montero sport is purchased on the permit by govt officers.

I think the new sport will do less on fuel as they are bringing down the auto version..

it comes with the 100kw engine... i drove one and its quite under powered to me atleast...

I went for a ride today in my mate's Montero Sport. I sat in the front, and I liked the ride a lot. There's no real feedback stating what kind of surface you're, and the suspension does wallow quite a bit. Having said that, I think it's perfect for our roads and I have no qualms about it. As for the fuel consumption, the display didn't go above 5.6km/l the entire trip, but he mentioned that he's touched 10km/l on occasion, and probably could sustain a rate as high as 11km/l on the highway. I love the surge of power when the turbo spools up, it's like being released from a slingshot.

My Montero Sport 2011(permit model) does 7.2 km/l in city running .(as in the multi information display)

This means the older model is much better on fuel , also since its from Japan it should retain some second hand mkt value.
