I just bought a toyota hilux vigo(thailand) 3.0L 4WD, 4 door double cab. some say vigo is not much better in quality as the Japanese hilux. but the vigo seems so good since it is a G grade and got many luxury options which i could not find on a japaneese hilux here in SL for thr price range(like intercooler, auto triptronic transmission, etc.). so is there any diffrence in quality and reliability between Japanese and thai hiluxes?

The Toyota Hilux is not manufactured in Japan anymore. Under the Toyota IMV project they have allocated production to Thailand, South Africa, and some South American country in order to reduce costs. So anyone looking for a Japanese HIlux will have to settle for a LN167 last produced in 04. I have a Toyota Hilux bought brand new from the agents in 2005 (KUN25 new model). Have run 135,000 k.m and haven't even had to change the shocks yet. Just routine servicing and maintenance. Having previousely owned a brand new LN166 97 model I can say this model is superior to that in every way.

thanks for ur ideas guys...it seems like u should not bother about vigo since it is really good vehical and good in reliability as same as the japanese hilux, its just a matter of the place where it made..

@knightowl - u mean the 2008 model?
