Horn Problem

im using a "2001" kia rio

symptoms:

Horn works only when is A/c is off (mostly)

Is it related to battery ?

Please advice!

Could be battery related, though unlikely as if your battery was that weak you probably won't be able to start let alone run your AC. Does your horn work when the engine is switched off ? Did you recently have your AC repaired ?

horn works fine when engine is off.... so far i've not done any a/c repairs :-)

What do you think about horn sensors etc ?

Maybe your alternator is not generating enough power to properly energize the horn relay when heavy loads are in action. Adjust alternator belt , Set alt setting to optimum and see.

i would first get the battery and the charging system checked...

if that's in good shape...you must be either having a faulty relay or faulty wiring...
