Well the sap from mango trees take a real toll on the paint. The only way you can remove it is if you scrub and wash it out as soon as it happens. If the stain has been there, for a while, then you are out-of-luck since it has probably beguyn attacking and discoloring the paint.

Oh yeah. If you really have to park under trees, wax your car once in a while. The wax layer does help the removal on any sap and prevent it from sticking.

Try Brasso.

MINIACE

i agree, brasso would be a good cheap solution. it even works well with hard stains like hard to remove grease patches after you bring your car home from a garage :) But its advisable to not use it all the time as its ab abrasive compound.

So is polish.

Hey will using braso effect the paint ?

yes, you have to consider that Brasso will scrape away layers of your wax and then your paint. Like JDNET said, Mango sap is a killer as well as bird poop.

I had some luck with those color based polishes. Try them and see, but don't just go ape on it first, use it on a panel that is invisible and see if the paint and the polish matches.

Mine is black so its not an issue. Worked well. Nawala Keels seems to have a good range. I got mine from there, Rs, 2000 odd.

going slightly OT, but any recommendations for tough "stains" on the interior - looks to be grimy fingerprints and other accumulation of "majang"... would it be some kind of mild solvent?

I like using 'Tuff-Stuff' for stuff like that- but be careful to test is before using. You will need to let it 'soak in'.

I found a product called STR Upholstery and Carpet cleaner, yellow spray-on bottle. Worked very well on some really tough grease and dirt stains. Too well in fact, I had to spray the whole panel and clean to balance out the 'clean' look. But works well. Bought it a supermarket. Not sure where. Killer on paint and plastic through, so be careful. Even cleaned a really really dirty and smelly sofa with what was left and worked well. Spray on, wait 30 seconds and wipe well with a clean damp cloth. LEaves a nice fragrance too.

You can't go around cutting other people's trees machang. :)

Keep a bottle of water and a rag in the car and when you see some droppings or sap, quickly wash it off before it gets dried up too much. That's what I do.

Wax the car regularly and keep an eye on droppings.

Mini, I saw a whole bunch of K11 doors in a small shop in KAlenimull/Angod road Yesterday. Stopped and asked for the ones with spoiler. Not available, but a new shipment of doors and other stuff is on the way it seems, they said you can check in about 2 weeks. NO name place.

Pass the Angoda junc going towards Kalenimulla. Opposite the Peoples Bank.

Nugegoda places came up dry. But was told to chack at the Kurana place as well.

Yeah like, climb the mango tree and and sh!t on mango tree owners car or something laugh.gif

Buying a stain remover or as suggested a can of Tuff Stuff is fine rather than climbing trees, Wasting Sh!t or starting a fight ne? action-smiley-060.gif

Figure out if the satin is inside or outside.

Wash and clean the glass with a good detergent. Use sound judgment in case the stain is inside.... ie. do not hose the inside of the glass... :)

Dry well.

Then use Silvo/Brasso on the areas affected or if you feel like it, do the whole glass.

Wipe well with good clean cotton rags.

Enjoy driving in the night... :)

Works well for both inside and outside.

I had success with thinner also... but then, use at your own risk in case the glass has special coatings like they do in some Euros.
