Geneius,

I am planning to buy a double cab, and my price range is 15-18 Lkhs. what is the best to choose? Toyota HILUX/Nissan Datsun range/ or what else? what are the major technical issues with these used ones? specially engine maintenance?

In fact im in the market for one too. For that budget you are looking at hilux 106. Nissan d21

never mind what is the best choice?

I suggest you to go for Hilux..lesser maintenance than other double cabs and better resale value than others..

are you planning to buy a 4wd one or 2wd one any ways if you going to buy a 4wd one if you want comfortable ride go for nissan d21 it has turbocharged td27 engine because of that it is faster than toyota double cab. but toyota ln106 have more market value than nissan d21 and toyota double cab has low maintenance than nissan double cab.

plane is to buy a 4wd and i dont care about the comfort but less maintenance much need. so to the above value it is difficult to find a good one of toyota

if you want 4wd and you don't care about how comfortable it's you can find good landcruiser bj40 series or mitsubishi jeep 4dr5.

nope, i need a double cab for business purposes only, most of these series are overpriced,

Is the D21 front suspension coil spring or leaf spring ?

To be honest there isn't much to chose from between either of these cabs. Note some of the Toyota 2.5 and 2.8 engines suffered from a head related issue.

True exactly, this Toyota engine occurs serious internal services when it comes to mileage over 200000km, so the problem is toyota is overpriced

Haven't you answered your own question then?

that's why we are discussing it here, this is AUTOLANKA DISCUSSION FORUM........... AND NOT A Cheating forum

Dude WTF is your problem? If you want answers to your questions you'd best learn to keep a civil tongue in your head. Do you imagine the people here are getting paid to answer your stupid questions?

If you want a double cab, go look at all the models available in your price range and pick the one that you like. End of story.

Err.... ok wonderfully cryptic response, I must say. Not sure what a 'cheating forum' is, but I'm sure its something mysterious and exciting. But what I meant was if one of the two options you are considering is too expensive for you (from your post saying that the market price is too high), then there's not much else to discuss. But certainly you are free to discuss it anyway and as much as you like with your apparent abundant free time :) Maybe by the time you finish discussing it, the price will have come down!

If your price range is upto 1.8m, then in fact I believe you do have the option of buying a Hilux.

A LN106 to be specific.

As some of the others pointed out, your chances of re selling if so are better than a Nissan.

But then most pick up trucks do sell well these days anyway.

I've seen ones advertised on the classifieds in that range.

I own a 106, but am by no means an expert on them, however the most common sense thing to do would be to have the

engine and mechanicals checked out.

Body panels and such are available but at a price.....other spares can be got for not too much.

All the best.
