Oh Bummer..!! Being a 121, the tiny spec of liveliness that car ever had will be gone if the guy decides to do that crime. Oh well, his car his transmission.. :(

ohps. then how can we identify what is the original transmission type in a car. i ask this because my friend said he was bought it for 2.3 m because of the manual and now he convert it to auto by spending some 1-1.25 lacks and easily he can sell it for 2.8 m. :angry-smiley-048:

1- Just cos he thinks he can sell it at that price doesnt mean he CAN.

2- A conversion takes more the a gearbox. I remember ripper saying something about the ECU being different too some time ago

3- Ask your friend when he bought the car? In our market you can buy a car and sell it off for a profit in not just years but even months. Go ask the first wave of post-tax-cut axio buyers how much they bought thier cars at, and what its worth now (that is if they haven't sold it already). So my point is a car's value can go up without you having to do sh!t to it.

The book does not contain transmission type... but by the way you guys are going about it, it will be just a matter of time before The Man finds out and slaps a charge for tranny changing the type too.

IMHO, your friend is headed towards a world of hurt as he will need a ECU, instrument cluster, trims and a bloody good mechanic who knows his way around.

Good luck with your get rich quick scheme.
