Japanese Domestic Or Export Models ?

Most of these popular brands (ES,CS.. etc) produces their models for domestic (Japan) use & for export.. just wanna know wat are the cons of getting a domestic model over an export model..

ex:

ES1 - Japanese Domestic 1.5 Litre , also found in 1.7 Litre @ Asian Domestic model and USDM (US Domestic Model)

ES3 - Japanese Domestic 1.7 Litre (FL Grade)

ES5 - Export Premium Model 1.6 Litre

ES8 - Export Basic Model 1.5 Litre

Should you buy a ES5/8 over an ES1/3 in Sri lanka?

Also out of curiosity.. wat exactly is meant by a Japanese domestic vehicle? (low ground clearance? 95 Octane?)
