Recommended Posts

The topic may sound stupid, sorry for that, but I'm a complete n00b so don't know what is what, my car is a FB13 carb model, I feel the fuel efficiency is too low and was hoping to do a cleanup, what is the correct product I should use to clean the entire fuel system of a FB13 ??, does this carb engines have injectors :)

First let us know the Fuel efficiency and engine capacity? Is it manual or auto transmission?

From my calculations it's doing around 7Kmpl, mind you this is not city driving :( Engine is a GA14DS (1.4Liter) manual

P.S : I do mostly short trips :)

Short trips = Less Fuel efficiency

Long Trips = More Fuel efficiency :)

Anyway, please check and clean the Plugs & Air filers first.

There are plenty of fuel system cleaners* (3M, W眉rth) in the market. I am using W眉rth in every 6 months. Price may be around Rs. 1100/=. Good results. 3M also good.

*Fill up the fuel tank first and insert the Fuel system cleaner in to it. Dosage may be around 50:1 (50Ltrs per one bottle).

If this is not work, better to have a engine tune up.

Good Luck.

Any good Fuel Tank cleaner for carburetor Engines (Petrol car) ?

The products discussed would do the same for carb engines as well when it comes to cleaning the fuel system. However, do not expect much of a change in a carb engine after cleaning. If the fuel level in the carb is maintained at the correct level by the fuel delivery system, then any performance improvement would have to come from things between the carb and air-intake.
