Friends,

I am willing to use my hand phone as a navigation system in my car. I am using two sim cards from two service providers for data and voice. Therefore I thought to use a super sim. I got following questions...

1. Have you anyone have used a Super Sim in Sri Lanka?

2. Where to buy?

3. What is the cost?

4. Does any service provider has blocked the copying facility of their sim to another one?

5. Can we do it at home? (buying from ebay or locally if available.)

6. Does super sim supports an Android smart phone?

7. Any hands on experience?

Thanks in advice..!

1. Yes using for over 3 years.

2. ebay

3. around 5~10USD with Smartcard reader

4. now most of service providers use COMP128 V2 and V3 SIM cards, which cant be cloned. However COMP128 V1 can be cloned easily through A3A8 algorithm hack. I have tried several new SIMs from dialog and mobitel and found all of them use either COMP128 V2 or V3 algorithms in SIM.

5. Yes, I did it may times at home,it is simple process, provided you have COMP128 V1 SIM from service provider. (Simply if you have old sim card, you may have chance to clone it.)

6. Yes, almost every mobile phone supports it. Phone should support STK to use Super SIM. I'm not sure about Apple Iphones, Haven't tried on it. I personally used Super SIM on Android , HTC WM6.5, Nokia Symbian 60, and 40 and other simple phones.

7. read above :) and it works nice. you cant use two numbers at once. only selected number will be online. Some phones will have small issues with SMS service center, Speed dials, you need to adjust them manually each time you switch number. it takes around 30 to 100 seconds to switch from one number to another and acquire network.

hope this helps.

Thanks friends. I've checked ebay. But there was comp 128 V1 compatibles only. Didn't found anything compatible with V2 and V3. I have Mobitel sim and Airtel (64k) sim that available after 2007. (V1 superseded by V2 after 2002 or 2005 no.)
