OK sounds like your car needs a bit of adjustment and tuning.

First issue is most probably related to the fuel injection system. Get the fuel system, throttle body, injectors cleaned up and hopefully that problem will go away.

The second issue is either a problem with the gear selector, but most probably is the clutch and/or the pressure plate. Have it checked and if necessary adjusted or replaced.

First check your cold starting system

What is your gear box oil? is it EP90??? please never put EP90 for synchromesh gear box. Remove your gear box oil and flush with diesel. Then put GL4 or Thuban (caltex= easy shift or manual trasmission oil) or SAE 80 oil
