Where Can I Get Chrome Work Done / Touch Up?

Hey guys

Does anyone know a place where i can get chromium plating done ?

The front forks on my bike have got tiny scratches on the chrome work from all the dirt/stones that chip into the forks at high speeds and as a result this has made my fork surface rough and its eating into my fork seals and they seem to wear away pretty fast with Oil seeping out... ive changed them twice in 6 months coz i was lazy to re-chrome but now i wanna get it fixed.

does anyone know a place that does chrome plating?

Electroplating your fork if you have bad deep scratches it will be very dificult to have the scratch marks erased unless they do very heavy hard chromium electro plating.

My personal opinion is to replase the fork, Compare the cost of a fork and plating cost, any way try the above post mentioned electroplaters.You need hard chromium electro plating. I do not know they do hard chromium electro plating. to get off all your scratch marks.

It is a very expencive job to do correct hard cromium plating.First of all show them and request a quote. can they take off all scratch marks.

I contacted Mr. jayathilaka owner of this E/P shop

I was informed by the "Jayadan Electro Platers" they do not do any hard chrome plating.

Even any one does that it will peel off in no time as we do not have correct technology of hard chrome.

He gave me a contact one Mr,Manju at Jaela who will do a modification to the fork the cost will be around 2000.00 rupees to 3000.00 Rupees. Please contact him and try his method.

The scratches however on the fork are not very heavy though its just a few debris that has chipped off some of the chrome work i will try to post a pic if i get the time. I just want to get that tiny area where the fork travels re-chromed if its possible.

According to E/P Mr. Jayathilaka. Manju does in a different way he changes the side of the working to non working side.

Talk to him he will do the need full as lot of motorcycle owners had requested to “Jayadan Electro Platers” to plate the tube, he had refused to do same because it has failed and directed them to Manju.
