Hi Guys,

I need some clarification on Air/ Fuel Mix. I went to the green test today and everything seems okay and I got the certificate.

But when I ask the person who did the test is everything is okay, he said, Since Air and fuel is not getting mixed (air - fuel mixture) properly during the idle petrol is getting wasted.

From the person’s wording who did the test “Amu Petrol Pichchenawa idle welawata”.

I have already change the plugs and did a tune up 3 weeks ago and the service also done with replacing the Air Filter.

- What could be the problem that air - fuel mixture is not proper during the idle? And how can I fix this issue

- Is this can be a problem due to IACU (Idle Air Control Unit) Failer?

Car is a NIssan Wingroad with QG15DE (1499 CC), Year 1999

Your thoughts are Well Come

Thanks In Advance,

Sampa

What? Did you smell anything like that during the test?

The problem is probably with the air flow sensor or the auto choke I think because it sounds like the ECU is injecting a little more fuel than necessary. Your engine might have been advanced a bit by the tuner who did the tune up. Time to take the car back to them and ask them to have a look. Did these so called tune up chaps plug the car into an analyser when doing the tune up? Technically modern cars don't need tuning up as the ECU automatically adjusts to the most efficient settings though in some cars you can adjust certain things like ignition timing, choke etc.

Sometimes these guys just say stuff, how does he know " Amu Petrol Pichchenawa " ? Is there a petrol smell or is he saying off the reading from the test. I am not good at reading these test reports but maybe if you scan it and put it up here some experts maybe able to give a correct diagnosis.

If something like that was happening you should have seen a big change in you fuel consumption ( since u got the tune up done 3 weeks before ).

Thanks alot for the feed back. Tuner plugs the analyser to the car and told me all my car's sensors are okay. As far as i know analyser can not re set the values isn't? What Iam thinking is to put the car to A*W and get a engine scan done? Do you guys know any one who I can get this done othar thaan A*W?
