I am still waiting for my car which was ordered in September 30th last year..

now 5 months gone still waiting.. anyone got the vechicle who ordered end of september??

Two of my office colleagues have ordered manual one on last November and Auto one on last September. The both have been called yesterday for paying for the balance amount for the delivery of vehicle. The Agent asked them, that it will take another two weeks for the delivery

Check with your sales guy. Most probably the vehicle may just have arrived.

Very true. I accidently tried to open a another persons viva(same color) thinking it's mine when he had park beside mine while i was visiting ATM. Was wondering why my remote not working ;)

Dude, It seems now small number plates are needed to fix on door handles of viva elites (it helps when remote does not work) due to higher car population. ;)

Ordered Std. Manual in November 2nd, 2011. Last Wednesday (29.02.2012) agent called me to inform that car has arrived and requested to make full payment. I paid1.59 Mn. total + 17.5k for registration :angry-smiley-044: . (Heard that those who ordered before 28 Oct. may receive the vehicle lower than this price). :angry-smiley-030:

And sales guy told me that the delay in A/T vehicles is longer compared to M/T vehicles.

So the M/T car is Rs 1.6mn ? is this with VAT.

yeah my outstation sales guy told that some of november orders received.. however, my order is still pending. I orderd AT one. my sales guy is clueless how these colombo main office allocate orders.. it seems those buggers in main office just give cars without any allocation ordes.

Guys, How long it'II take for the Registration of a Car ? ( I'm a Newbie  )

We submitted necessary docs. and made full payment for a Viva Elite M/T on 29.02.2012 after agent informed us that the vehicle has arrived. They even gave us Engine no. etc. but they still failed to deliver the vehicle. Buggers even unable give a reasonable explanation.

Is this normal ? ( due to some kind of congestion in registration nowadays)

Oh, they took more than 2 weeks. This is unbelievable.

I paid full amount on 19th May 2011 and received the vehicle on 24th May 2011. Registration was done on 20th May 2011.

It won't take that much time.

You go and talk to your Sales person and specially to the Manager too.

May be your car is already registered.

Check with the guy who take the registration part.

Don't simply believe their answer. Go and push.

I paid full amount last Thursday.

buggers said that they can give around week. I am waiting for that.

I have ordered the car September 30th.

and they increase price 1595 to 1630. for me.

one of my friend ordered manual one September 12th and he received 15 th December..

sales bugger said to me my car also would have received by December but it took more than 3months of original receiving date.

i can say that car allocation buggers in colombo , give priority to their friends or some other guys.. it seems allocation is not according to the order date.. typical sri lankan case..

You mean September 2011 right? They're getting the list of vehicles in the April shipment on the 25th. Ask him to check with them. That shipment is supposed to have late August and early September orders.

Well said. That's the way of working with Un*mo.

Called many people in Un*mo.

It seems customers have to do the administration/ coordination between different depts. within Un*mo (at our own cost and time) to get the registration and delivering of vehicle done other than paying hard earned money for the vehicle. It was pleasure doing business with them. :speechless-smiley-004:

The thin membrane covers all their inefficiencies and unfriendly service is that the vehicle they sell is somewhat better than the competitors in that range. Don't no how long how long it will cover them unless they change their strategy. :sad-smiley-067:

I ordered the A/T on Feb 19th & the guy said it will take 4 to 5 months to be delivered. Understandably so, after reading all these threads & feedback I knew what I was getting in to. However the worry for me is the rate of the USD going up day by day. It was 16/90 for standard auto during Feb & the price was estimated with the USD rate of 118. Today is LKR132 . God knows what it will be in another 5 or 6 months.Very soon an average citizen of Sri Lanka will not be able to buy a brand new vehicle & we will again go back to 20 years before where people could only afford second hand vehicles.

This will be a real issue for both the customer and the agent. Actually, even agents cannot give a clear statement about the possible changes of the vehicle prices in 3 mnts time. Hopefully, exchange rate may drop after april.

'tis what happens when you need to show your neighbour a brand new car with a license plate frame that says A*W, UNIMO etc.

Not so different to how some prefer to have a euro car regardless of its vintage.

On a more serious note, it is quite evident that agents are misinforming the buyer about the wait times. Looking from a sellers perspective if his competitors are lying he's compelled to lie as well to be competitive in the market. Image if Un*Mo say their lead time is 6 months oppose to A*M stating theirs is only 3. I can see how a sizable amount of potential UniMo customers deviating towards the competitor because of their impatience.

Please note i am not justifying the actions of the agents just shedding some light on a different angle.

yes but to be fair on the seller to , we all knew what time it takes to deliver the car before ordering. Not sure about the others, but my sales guy at Uni*mo clearly told me before placing the order that it will take 4 to 5 months or more to deliver the vehicle. Knowing that only I placed the order,I'm sure we all did the same way. So maybe we start crying over the fact that they don't deliver soon does not make any sense sometimes. And other thing, with this highly increasing dollar rate even the agent tend to delay the order or lie to the customer to gain more profits.(even when the car is already here at their back yard)

You go and talk to Manager directly. You have wait for 6 months means half an year.

Don't forget to bring your all documents.

Go and :violent-smiley-027: and collect the car.

As I heard next batch is sceduled to reach here within first week of April.

If you have the money now, go to a currency dealer and buy US$ to the value. This way you will be protected from any exchange rate increases. But remember if the dollar falls you will lose out.
