Importing A Motorcycle From India

Dear friends,

I seek your valuable Advice regarding procedure to direct import a new motorcycle from India for personnel use here in Sri Lanka.

  1. What is the Max engine capacity allowed
  2. Customs duty and other duties applicable
  3. Is a permit required? Import control procedures

Your advice is highly appreciated.

OK the max capacity will still be 250cc.

Personally I dont think you'll be making much of a saving considering the trouble you might have to go through with paperwork etc. You'll spend what you save on time and effort in clearing/registering the bike.

Goto a sale buy it and ride away with the keys.. hassle free motoring :)
