engine with over 150000Km Mileage, Auto, EFI,

So is it need to replace the engine or fully repair it. i ve searched a engine with similar type with mileage in between 15000 - 20000 Km, to a reasonable price. but how i can we rely on it?? with mileage?

Yes. Any engine that has clocked 150,000 must be replaced asap. Try to do it at 149,999 or else your car may stall on the middle of the road with broken T-belts and whatnot.

You can easily find a similar engine with 15-20k on the clock. The mileage will be written in big letters on the engine block and it's definitely genuine. Furthermore, you don't need to do silly things like check for sludge in an engine which has done only 15-20k.

All the best with your car!

I want to use this vehicle permanently, so i thought it is better i have engine with low mileage and good condition. and i found few engines with reasonable price.

if your engine not giving any problem, so don't do anything. use that engine and do oil and filter change on time. if you treat her well she will not give you problem.

BTW what is the price you got recon engine?

If there's nothing wrong going on the engine, Don't waste money on another used engine. If it has a problem try to repair it. What you find in that price is another car's engine. So its doubtful engine too.. There's no reconditioned engines in here, all are ripped off from a vehicle and shipped to Sri Lanka, not even blow away the dust in it.

I went to the garage with a nissan march because it was,

heating a bit,

The coolent was reducing

and there was a oil leak

There was no defect in the radiator.

I tought it must have be something to do with the gasket and tappet cover seal.

The person who first inspectede the car agreed and i bought these things (overhaul kit)

Now he says only the seals need replasing

But as he told me the car had the symptops of a gasket defect.

Is replasing the gasket a big job, compared to replasing the tappet cover seals

how much time will it take.

I want to repair the car to 100% condition because I want be having free time to attend to this car for a long time.

This is a nissan march k12 with more than 140k km on the clock and was driven and maintained by my mother, ( not well maintained )

i think better you replace gasket and replace all oil seal and tappet cover seal. also better you check timming belt and timing belt adjusters also better you check plug wire set.

sounds like a head gasket. If you're taking the head off, get it checked by a machine shop to make sure it's still flat and within specs cos a warped head (due to overheating) will give you the same issue again. While its there, a good cleaning and valve job and new valve seals wouldn't hurt either. Valve cover needs to come off for the head gasket anyway, so replace the seal there too. Also, if you wanna spend a bit more, timing belt and cam seal.

Thank you very much for the advice,

the car has a timing chain so i need not to replace it.

And will the whole process take a lot of time in the garage.

And will a normal garage be able to identify the problems with the engine head
