by recondition, you mean a used engine right? not rebuilt? If so, just drive it. There's no break-in period, because it's just a used engine. The term "reconditioned" has been bastardized, molested and raped pretty badly by the used parts dealers.

Like JD said if you got one of those reconditioned engines there is no issue at all assuming you have checked the engine oil etc. But if you rebuild the engine using new pistons,rods etc. then we would advice you to keep the engine rpm's below 3000-4000 range for a couple of thousand Kilometers.

if its a rebuild engine there are two ways to break-in. one is is you drive it like you stole it (cannot be done legally in anywhere in the world), other way is keep your rpms low and do not keep in steady rpm for long.

Hi Guys,

Thanks you very much for all your valiuble thoughts. The engine is a used one may be in Japan, It is not a re build of the existing engine. It was fixed in A*W and the engine was also selected by them, The engine seems to be in a good shape by the look.

Run the engine hard as possible. (there is a process to it). i usually do it on a dyno.

Bro, dont judge an engine by what it looks like on the outside. Any run down engine can be made to look nice with a good wash...
