Used Starlet Auto Or Manual Is Better

this is my first post... I'm expecting to buy a used Toyota starlet. my wife is expecting a auto gear car.

Is it a good idea to go for an auto gear used car. or to go for a manual gear one. Highly appreciate your views on this..

Welcome to AL. Buying a used auto car is not an issue at all. You just have to weed out lemons and buy a car in good condition.

Personally, i prefer manual boxes. Nothing to do with reliability, just prefer stick shift

Starlets are pretty robust vehicles irrespective of whether auto or manual. There are no major known issues with auto boxes but u need to find a one which is working properly, considering the age. When you say Starlet, I presume you are talking about EP91s. Only trouble I see is they go for around 1.5million these days, which is rather expensive for cars of that type and age.

Like this guy said, define who and where it drives... Daily traffic roads with female driver go for a Auto box.. and of you need sudden acceleration or pleasure go for the stick. On my own I prefer auto because hassle free in roads. might be not to you...
