By comparison you also say these vehicles are tug boats when an SUV is like the titanic.

For the record SL tax strictures have nothing to do with this. You might be new to the concept but the rest of us have known their flaws all these years.

Single cab trucks are categorized as lorries, certain jeeps that are series 61- too are classified as lorries here.

So dont drag those into this.

I gave the right advice to that guy to rebuild the engine of his car. I don't know how SL Emission standard, but that little tweak can by pass the machine but not the environment. For this topic, as I said earlier if this thing is SUV then I can make SUV out of Mahindra cab too. with help from aluminum sheets and local vendor.

Dude, if you don't know the local SL context that local Sri Lankan's ask questions on, then keep quiet. The local people who know the local context will answer the question.

If you want a SUV, don't play with suv like toys.. If SUV is Titanic those Suzuki's and X-trail are tug boats..

Yes when you consider off roading comparing these SUv's to something like Land Cruiser or Patrol is like comparing Titanic to tug boats.

But that doesnt mean these aren't good SUVs they are quite quite good cross over SUVs, which have the driving position of a SUV and they aren't too hard on fuel as well.

I would say the X-Trail as its the more capable 4x4

My budget is about 3.1M to the max. I like the Rav4 but Y2000 or above models don't fit in that price. Is it a much better choice to go for a Rav4?

I am using a Grand Vitara XL-7, I would say if you are looking for performance, Grand Vitara would be the most appropriate choice. But if you are looking for less fuel consumption and average performance, X-Trail would fit.

Vitara has some issues, since it is not comparatively common, parts are expensive and maintenance is expensive too, therefore think about your needs and decide on this.

You can go for a petrol tucson or sportage which is about 4 years newer than these.

Or if you streach you'r budget you may be able to reach a diesel one as the doctors are selling them for low prices due to the permit
