Suzuki Swift Milage Is Really Low But Y???

My Suzuki swift 2003 jeep model runs only 8.4kms per liter and its a huge problem for me. I personally think that my car deserves more mileage so i think that there is some problem with it. Please help me. I'm losing a lot because of this petrol problem

This is the mileage it normally gives. There is nothing wrong with your car. Do a good service and drive sensible and hope to get may be another 1 km. I had the same model and this was the reading i got too. Good luck

I had a jeep model 2002 auto.it did around 10 in city traffic.

12-14km/l in short distance(10-20km)

did about 15+ in colombo to anuradhapura

i think that your vehicle has some problem.

Yes bro i also think that it has some problem because suzuki swift is not a luxury car to use so much of petrol...

1st you called it a JEEP model so it has a right to do even less on fuel

and NZer's right on this point it may be doing what it should, don't think that a car been small will always be economical as demonstrated by our march.

the main reason people spend more around 4mill on a vitz that also does only around 10kmpl in Colombo is because they are chicken to drive a big set of wheels in the city.

So ultimately they spend more than me who drive around in my big(actually mid sized) black diesel jeep(SUV).

8Km/L for colombo ride is normal for Suzuki Swift. I had Nissan FB15 and it did only 7Km/L. But some people say there ones are doing 12Km/L, but most people roughly calculate the figures and some say "I put Rs. 1000 petrol and it's enough for me to come to Colombo twice and go home".

But for long drive, you should get more than 11 Km/L in any Japaneese car of your engine Size..
