Hye Guys...

I used Castrol GTX (20W - 50) to my Mariti Suzuki Zen Estillo (MFY: 2011) up to now. But when I went to Laugh Car Care they told me that Castrol GTX (20W - 50) is too thick for a new car and it is better if I can use any good lubricant which has a viscosity range of 15 - 40. When I checked with them I can buy Laugh Lubricant with above range at a cheaper price than the cost for Castorl GTX. So I'm planning to use Laugh Lubricants for my car from next service onwards. Please give me your comments on the quaity of Laugh lubricants and inform me your experiances about Laugh Lubricants.

If you can have any other reccomandations or any alternatives please let me know....

Thanks...

First of all, what made u use 20W-50? Did the agent tell you to use it?

Dear Crosswind,

Actually I don't have an exact idea about the reccomended oil type for my car (I don't have its user manual). But when I checked with A*W they told me that Castrol GTX is the recommended oil type for Maruti Suzuki vehicles. When I asked them about the viscosity range they told me it is recommended to use either 10W 40 or 20 W 50.

But I'm thinking of shifting in to another oil type (Because Castrol is somewhat expensive) which have a viscosity range of 10W 40.

Please give further comments for my information.

Thanks....

Is your car under warranty? If so, use what the agent recommends. They are not always right but you need to avoid things that may prevent them from honouring the warranty.

Secondly, I see no reason why you should use oil with viscosity of 50. 40 is just fine for a car made just two years ago. In fact, if I were you, I would use Lanka OIl Monograde 40 leave it at that. Laugfs oil is a Chinese product blended in Singapore. Not much experience on that. But I used their Auto gear oil once, for an old car and it worked like any other oil. A*W is the agent for Castrol so naturally they would recommend it. I use Mobil or Castrol with my Ford Focus though.
