Sleepless nights have begun. I'm twisting between SL320 and SL500. Should I just pay additional 2000 euros more and go for the SL500 and go broke or settle with a SL320?· 1 reply

My german gf thinks im stupid to spend 22,000€ on a SL320 while I can buy so many newer mercs for a lesser price here in Germany I dont know what to do. I want this cabrio so badly. But at the same time I don’t want to give her the impression that I’m an irresponsible person. SOS!· 2 replies

I'm going to buy a car in SL for 2 mil while being in Germany. Then I'm going to put up a public raffle draw and pick one lucky winner to gift that car when I have 600 participants registered in the raffle draw. Registration fee for each participant is Rs. 5000/-· 3 replies
Why didnt I think of this before

So for a spirited convo like this old times; ?BYD· 15 replies
My father has gone ninja about getting one, despite being the new hype/fad here these are common across the world and I've seen a few cross 100,000km in Nepal and Australia.
Seal - Looks nice, very premium interior but too low for my applications
Sealion - Very Premium, feels very well built, BUT that 1.5L on that reasonable chunk of car with a measly 18KW battery seems like a recipe for trouble, incase they sink in value at least the fuel economy must justify that (They say it's a BYD engine - though the lore is it is a hyundai engine)
Atto 3 - Most sold from their lot apparently, common af, Seems to be the best bang for buck IMHO, Its electric since BYD is famed for that, Interior is kinda good, the thing is larger than a vezel but not too large like the Sealion, cheap mobility I guess with less things to go wrong
Dolphin, almost a smaller atto and again too car like and not suited for my application.
JK nailed it on the price and distribution but the only guaranteed thing here is the lot are gonna muck up the aftersales. The Kandy center staff behave like the crew from a Govt. post office.
What are your thoughts and opinions? Could this be the next Wagon R or is this a passing fad like the Micros of 2000s-2010s?

Hi guys,
I have a diesel corolla 110 manual one. This evening when returning home I stopped at a gas station and when pulling to the road I noticed that the temp gauge had suddenly moved above the 3/4 mark. It was fine (in the 1/2 mark) about 2 mins before.
I thought the needle was acting up but pulled over turned off the engine and turned the key back to ON, then the needle came to the 1/2 mark, but when started, it moved from 1/2 to 3/4 within about 20 seconds !. I drove again for few seconds and the gauge kept rising so I stopped and checked the fans. AC was off and both the fans were off although the temp was high.
When the engine is off and the key is in ON the needle sits around the half mark and it went up only when the engine is started,
Then I turned on the AC and then the temp slowly became normal. Then I started driving again but the temp kept rising when the AC cuts out. But the whole drama was over in another 10 mins and everything is back to normal now. Now the temp is normal and the fans come on usual way. After that I noticed the radiator top tank was almost empty although the plastic tank has coolant in it (but the temp was fine although the radiator was missing close to 1L of coolant). When the temp was high I noticed a bit of coolant where the top tank meets the radiator core and there was a bit of smoke coming from the tube that goes into the plastic tank from the radiator - is it normal ?
So my questions are could this be due to a bad gauge or an issue with the fans. - I mean will the temp go up that fast (1/2 to 3/4) in 20 seconds if the fans are not running ?
My trusty old electrician is gone so I'm kinda hesitant to show this to an unknown guy as the issue is gone now. Could you recommend a good place around Nugegoda area ?
Lastly any other symptoms of overheating engines if you don't / can't trust the temp guage ?
