Did you try turning it off and on again? j/k

You really should provide more details if you want any useful advice/feedback.

try this (if you haven't tried). switch the key to "ON" (IGN ON) and wait few seconds and start.if you see the "time lag" is same, then try what watchman said.

Battery is just 8months old and i'm regulary checking the water. What kind of information would need you guys...?

There is a slight engine miss when driving in traffic. i'm about to change Automatic gear oil. (>45000km)

Do you think above is related to starting problem?

do you feel the headlights door lights horn and stuff are working as they were or have they become a bit dull?

if so probably like MkX said battery might be the prob

check the grounds of the battery could be a bad ignition switch as well

also check your plug wires

Hmmm... Just turn the ignition on without starting for couple of minutes and then try start the car. If it's start without a lag, you better check your fuel filter. (Not sure whether it's in tank in FB 15 along with fuel pump)

If that is so, he will get issues with acceleration won't he?

@kam.uoc what is the engine miss you experience when driving in traffic? Did you listen silencer beat after stop?

Why did you change Fuel Pump last time? Did you check/clean Injectors with that tune up?

Yep, plus some Gas mileage issues.. guess we better wait till OP to come up with more facts related to fuel pump.
