Is there a way to open car door without the smart key near it. I kept my smart key inside the house and tried to open the door with the normal-key i got with my smart key. The door opened but suddenly the security alarms started ringing, i had to use my smart key's unlock button to disarm the security alarm. My issue is if my smart-key's battery drains out how will i be able to open the door with the normal-key? Will it activate the alarm's once again?

And what is the use of having that normal-key if i can't open the door without activating the security alarm?

Your advises are highly appreciated. Thanks

As per my knowledge, there is a normal key coming with every smart-key. Where in case if your smart key not functioning (ex: like when there are radio interference) So u have to use ur normal key to unlock the door.

If it has a security system then u can un-armed it by using ur smart key once you are inside the car or there may be a kill switch hidden in the car.

I might be wrong, wait and see for other experts replies.

The batteries on these keys last a long time. The only way to disarm the security alarm is to use the smart key. So if the remote battery is actualy drained, you will need to replace the battery before you can use the car. This is why you usually get two smart keys, not one as a back up.

You can't use the normal key even when there is radio interference as the car won't start without the smart key. But for this you can hold the smart key close above the start button and the car will recognise the key

Remember nearly all modern cars have immobilizers but not alarms. Some of these alarms are also after market units.

Now there is no point of an alarm if it can be overidden without the alarm remote now is there?
