First Service

Different manufacturers stipulate different service intervals. Nissans for example need a service at the first 1,000 and then at every 5,000 intervals. GM asked for the first service at the first 5,000 and then at every 5,000 intervals. Best is to see what is required in the manual.

This is asuming that the mileage is 30Km and not 30,000 Km. If it's 30Km, those the dealer miles and the car is brand new , therefore should follow the manufacturer specified (1,000, 3,000 or 5,000). If it's a reconditioned car with 30,000Km on the clock, you can do a filter and fluide chage and set yourself a base line from there.

The old 1000km service applied at an age when things were not as precision engineered as they are today. You expected some metal shavings etc to be present in the oil while the mechanical components bedded in. But these days its a red flag if this happens because that means something is rubbing against something else.

So just stick with manufacturer reccomendations and you should be ok. I was just trying to give some context.
