sudupulun
Hi, I have a Civic EK3 Ferio 98 EFI Auto CVT car. These days it gives me very hard time with a engine miss. Issue Symptoms : 1. RPM goes down when it's happening 2. It happens without AC, in N and in P too 3. I feel like one piston giving the problem 4. Very rarely it stops the car too. Specially in reverse and in first gear turning the car 5. In highway i can go upto 60/70 when the issue is there. driver/passengers can feel the engine miss. Before three months i went to kolonnawa place to fix it. they did a engine tune up and replaced petrol filter/Air filter too. When he was doing the trial i felt the issue is still there. but 98% resolved. he said it is ok. But after couple of days I replaced spark plugs too(Genuine). after that i didn't feel the issue. But it's just for couple of months. It came back. Actually this issue came three years back also. After pressurizing petrol line from the pump the issue was resolved(in Stafford). I said the same to Kolonnawa guy and he said he cannot do it in his garage. So I again went to stafford to do it. But no luck, line was pretty clear from the pump. they did a throttle body cleanup and again issue was not seen for couple of weeks. But it happens again. So friends, have anyone gone through this issue previously? Do you have any idea about this? Your suggestions would be really helpful. Thanks,
shanal123
I had a similar issue. Steps I took to fix it were; 1) Replace fuel filter (didn't help) 2) Tune-up (didn't help) 3) Replaced O2 sensor (partially helped) None of these helped until one fine day that car was missing so bad, I couldn't go past 20kmph. Problem diagnosed to bad distributor coil. Also had tune-up done with throttle body being cleaned and new spark-plugs. Hope this helps! Note: When the problem first came up, Stafford suggested replacing the IAC valve (my car is a 4-speed auto Integra).

MV-5
probably this is due to bad plug wires or coils, problem might be a "spark leak" .it might be the reason that new plugs solved the problem for a short time period (because spark will flow through the least resistive path ). some spark leaks are visible, but not all (you can do that famous "soap water" spray test) Edited July 19, 2015 by MV-
