Can a leak on the water line be repaired ? Weld ? glue ?

Just checking with you guys before I take it to a repair shop and they try to take the expensive route (full replacement).

Thanks!

You can get a leaky aluminum core welded. But when you do it usually the fins on either side of the water line get damaged thus losing the mechanical support to the core. If it is short length it is OK. Remember to use the same old radiator cap after a repair cos a new one might increase the pressure inside.

Can be welded or apply glue. But it will be a temporary solution as with time, heat and the pressure it could start leak again.

Best way is to replace particular core or the radiator if possible.

Calculate the loss you get with over heated engine repair or the replacement.

Option is up to you.
