Mitsubishi 6G74 Gear Box Failed

wolfy

Question

hello guys... we have a mitsubishi montero 2003 v6 petrol suv..1 week ago, car suddnly stopped. i felt that the gear box or differential was stuck with something..our mechanic fully checked the gear box . one gear wheel was damaged, because of that gear box housing was cracked . a reason for the crack in the gear box housing was caused by a metal part that came from the damaged gear wheel. but mechanic said the housing can be fixed. (he is a experienced person about vehicle auto gear boxes and he has worked in Toyota Japan)but the problem is the cracked gear wheel.. 4wd part is ok. but the problem is the 2wd part. guys, do you know a place or a web site which i can buy these spares like this gear wheel ? online purchasing is also ok .. any suggestions?

ps. vehicle type - montero 2003 petrol 6g74 engine with 5fwd auto triptronic gear box.

we are still looking for the problem which cause this damaged to the gear wheel . And we are going to fix it first..

thank you!

Do you have the part number? If not first thing is to find it somehow. Do you have the code number of the gear box? It is either embossed or engraved on the gear box housing (For an example follow http://www.jpat.co.uk/52%20Mitsubishi%201A%20KM170%20177%20A4AF3.pdf) If you can find a similar parts manual for your gearbox then you can get the part number. Or else you can try with the agent. Sometimes these parts are not listed in the repair manual for the vehicle but in a separate gearbox repair manual.

If your frame is listed in www.amayama.com link https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/mitsubishi you may be able to find it. If you can find the part number, register in their web site and place an order. Usually they deliver within 10 days.

Also search in http://mitsubishi-motors.kiev.ua/info.php?id=20 for the manual where several transmission code numbers are listed.
