How much the cost 

Engine overhaul or engine replacement if so prices of an engine

Yes . Car oil is burning and my mechanic said . It could be oil seals or piston rings or bore . But to verify he said he has to oen and inspect the engine

You can do a compression test without dismantling the engine.
