Honda Insight HMMF light with a spanner -100kms

Smeja

Question

My Honda insight developed a HMMF warning light with a spanner. I checked the CVTF level and was slightly low. So I added one litter of CVTF and the level was OK. Then the warning light turned to HMMF with a spanner then -100kms. What do I do or what's the meaning of this. Is my gear box safe.

You can find hmmf oil now in Sri Lanka. Replace hmmf oil every 40,000 kms

Frankly, HMMF and CVTF both are the same. We have driven our Fit GP1 with CVTF oil changes now more than 90000km.  HMMF is for the Japanese market. Some sellers try to sell HMMF for exorbitant  price (13000 - 15000 Rs. for 4 liter) though we can buy 3.5 Liter can (which is sufficient for the oil change) for Rs. 6500 - 7000. Please do not trap to the word of oil seller!!!. The service manual of Honda Insight for USA recommends CVTF.
