temperature sensor and gear shifter faults

Aeromotive Customs

Question

high guys.I have a premio 2007 model that was recently replaced engine (1zz-fe)and gear box.Been running well for a while but had a a slight gear shift delay but as of yesterday the coolant temperature sensor fail.after i unplugged it so that the fan can run full time (temporary measure)  after that was done i realized the gear doesn't shift past the 3rd gear.is there any way the issues are related or are they two independent issues.please do advice.

what makes you think (as a proper trained Auto technician),that making coolant fan running full time will solve a gearbox issue? It can cause more issues, and may put the car in limp-home mode, where RPM is reduced to 2000. And below 2000, the transmission may be programmed to run no higher than 3rd gear.
