Guys,

You may know some retiring govt servants are eligible for car permits, with a 2300 cc limit on the diesels and 1850 on petrol vehicles. There was a limit on the CIF value of USD 17450 and USD 13500 (approx)

for diesel and petrol respecitvely. These USD limits were set back in yr 2000.

I want clarify whether these are the existing CIF limits on these permits. thanks!

Yes the permits are still on. The values are $ 17,875 for Diesel & $ 13,440 for petrol. Engine capacity limit stays the same. Not much you can buy unless you go for a Pug 407, thats the best bet & the most ideal if you want a quality vehicle.

what r the engine options for a 407?thot they might b 2L cars...

Thanks. And upto how old can the vehicle be? Is it 5 years. You meant the 406 right? cos im pretty sure the 407 is more than 17k USD
