Drive shaft issue

samr7x7

Question

Hello everybody,

So the u-joints on my Toyota were shot so I got them replaced at a local garage. Replacement was done by a machine shop and everything seemed fine, but I'm now experiencing a very minor vibration at around 30kmph. The garage and machine shop both said they've done the best they can.

Most foreign help forums suggested getting the drive shaft balanced but I wasn't able to find any that do it here in Sri Lanka. Am I out of luck? Are there any places that could do it?

Drive shafts are usually factory balanced. You may see a bit/s of small metal squares welded on to the shaft. That's for balancing. It's very unlikely that these to be inadvertently removed.

Does the vibration disappear beyond 30kmph? Does revving cause the vibration?

It does seem to stop after 30-40kmph. No vibrations when revving.
