D = Drive S = Slope <as per the user manual and explained in it in Japanese>.it sets the rev point higher so that you have more torque when going up hill and more engine braking when going down-hill. Now the fact that most of your engine's torque and hp will be at a higher engine rev range, once the engine reaches high revs you might feel a bit of greater acceleration/pull but that is not because the gear is "Sport" In some vehicles it is Sport and it changes the mapping for the transmission, but not in the case of your everyday Toyota (or most other Japanese econo boxes).
