10+ yrs old car). Hopefully i'll find one if not will settle for a 318 i.

Machan my advise is go for a 318i, there were a few advertised on this site that looked good.

Get one with all the options (sunroof, Driver airbag if poss - later editions had it, climate control A/C, Trip Comp, Electric Seats etc).

It might set u back a bit more than the budget but it would be worth it in the long run.

True you wont have the same performance as a 6 Cyl but you will have better economy and the 318 is by no means a slow car and you have the option of putting in an induction Kit, possible chip up etc.

Good idea to be ready for repairs. But go for condition over anything else. Don't get tempted by lower prices. Try to get one with service history. Also if you can I'd advise you to get the car checked up by a specialist before buying.

Suspension needs to be in good shape to really enjoy the car.

Check everything even small things like power window switches are not cheap to replace.

Anywhere from 1.2 - 1.8 Mil, dependant on Y.O.M, Condition etc etc

Wonder if the Bavarian enthusiasts know of any - they were rather active on Facebook....
