90 Octane And 95 Octane

Whether you should use 90 octane or 95 octane depends on the engine, rather than the age of the engine.

some engines are built to take higher octane fuel, and thus if you provide it with a lower octane fuel, there tends to be certain amount of knocking as a result, and sometimes loss of power.

But if the manual of your car does not recommend the use of high octane petrol and your car is running fine without any issues, there is no reason to switch from 90 to 95 octane.
