Buying 2 Din Dvd Player From Usa

Question

Posted

I saw this 2 din dvd player for a very good price in Am*z*n.c*m.

Click this link to see the Double din DVD player

A similar one will cost nearly 5 times here in Sri Lanka. Has anybody used any DVD players brought from USA? Any cons and the suitability of the setup when used in Sri Lankan vehicles? Will the size of the item be compatible with our JDM vehicles? Please advice...

Thanks Gunat for pointing out that. The product description says "Disc Compatible: Multi-region DVD/VCD/MP3/CD/CD-R/DIVX 4." I think this is OK.

isn't it going to cause a problem since the broadcasting system is in NTSC format?

Even most of the pirated DVDs are NTSC. We don't notice it as most DVD players and TVs now are multisystem

However you will have a problem with the FM frequency range.

Keep in mind that is is not a well know brand. Even is SL you can pickup a similar - Taiwan or Chinese model for less than 50K. The branded ones are going at prices you mentioned.

This particular version seems to support PAL/SECAM/NTSC

However you will have a problem with the FM frequency range.

This particular one has the Frequency range from FM87.5 to 108MHz

But I saw somewhere that US based radios do frequency scan in .2 increments instead of .1 Then that will miss some of the SL radio stations.
