O/d Indicator Not Working

Hi Guys,

I Have a KIA Spetra (2001) Car. My O/D Indicator is not working properly. It have a Tuch Button to switch on the O/D. When the car is going around 50 Km/h I cant switch off the O/D. Its not woring. If i start the car and switch off the O/D, then when around 50Km/h again its automatically switching On. Im not sure whether its going to the 4th (OD). when im going around 60 - 70 Km/h my RPM is around 2700. is this normal. or is it doing in the OD Gure? how can i check whether my O/D is working properly? Please help me.

Are you manually turning the OD on and off? If you are, I don't think you have to do that. The automatic trans will select the proper gear that it should be given the engine load and speed.

That said, if you want to check if the OD works or not, just bring the car up to 50-60 and press the OD button once and see if there is a change in your engine RPM. If the engine RPM changes, then it's working. If not I would start with the ON/Off switch and work my way back to the trans and trouble shoot the cause. Good luck.

damn i was going to say the same this as mani.. when u turn off OD at around 60 u will see an increase in RPM if its working,., and the other way around when it is turned on at that speed..
