Mra Pelwatte Rally 2009 On January 23, 24 & 25

As usual there will be a sizable Autolanka presence on the rally (officials and competitors), and from what I hear, Grand Civic will be making his competition debut as a co-driver with Dinesh Senanayake this time around. All the best buddy!

The provisional entry list shows at least 7 GT-class entries and barring some technical issues, we'll see Nishan Weerasooria, Aravinda Premadasa and Dinesh Deheragoda go up against each other head-to-head for the first time in special stage rallying.

MRA confirmed that Rally at Pelwatte will be held as scheduled. Driver's briefing and official rally start will take place at AMRC Track Battaramulla from 4.00pm onwards tommorow ( Wednesday ).

OK, kids, updates coming in from Pelwatte. Results after 2 stages.

In the lead, Ashan Silva (Evo III) holding a 1 min lead over Dinesh Deheragoda (Evo X). Third place is the Wahab bros in the Civic Type R, and Dinesh Senanayake (and co-driver Grand Civic) are running 4th 40 seconds behind them. Manish Gunathilake (hope I spelled that right) co-driven by Fuzzo is running 7th in front of Aravinda Premadasa (8th) and Nishan Weerasuriya (9th). Both AP and Nishan are supposed to be having mechanical difficulties. Unfortunately KLM's car is out after mechanical problems.

Heard Ashan ran nearly 10km without a tyre yesterday night Its starting at 9am today.

Good luck to all our AL friends running.Its great to hear Grand civic is doing great on his debut.He is available for WRC 2010 !

Fourth was Shafraz Junaid in a scooby and Fifth Deepthi in Paj-evo,Another Good show by injured Ashan & Ashan who came sixth despite plenty of DNFs due to Sundays terrible crash..Get well soon mates!

Driver Ashan broke his collorbone I heard...not sure...Co-Ashan is also nursing for injuries....both transpoeted to CMB in an ambulance I heard....
