Freelander Petrol 1800cc

Hi ,

Anyone who knows if this is a good vehicle?

1800 cc petrol. Year 2000.

Thought that most were diesel....?

I owned one in the UK, same 1800cc, YOM 2000.

Had it for few months and sold it. My opinion is don't go for it. It has all the comfi things and all but the 1800cc engine is not power enough to pull the vehicle. It takes ages to get 0-60. And I hate that hydrolic powered clutch too. Others are ok.

The engine is made by Rover.

If you want to buy a Freelander go for a Diesel.

Or if you really want to buy the 1800cc, have a test drive for few kms and when you are satisfied go for it.

not to forget it comes with the infamous 'K' series engine that unfortunately doesn't have a good reputation, neither does the 'L' series

Know that. When I bought the Vehicle I didn't realise that and the main reason which I sold the vehicle is the engine. But I never had any problems or repairs with it only the lack of power and the infamous engine.

run!!

run away now!!!

That K Series motor is a mess - the L series diesels you can live with but the K series is nothing but a money pit and a headache generator

nice to drive , very car like response , but no other redeaming features imo

prone to sever gasket failure
