Sourcing Large Capacity Cans...

Ripper

Recommended Posts

Hi all.... I'm trying to source a large capacity can/cans to carry some extra fuel on an extended fishing trip...

would anybody have a can i can borrow for a sunday trip?

Need to take 80 litres of K oil....

Even contacts of a place to buy those cheap/discarded larger cans would super!! :)

Would've bought it new from arpico or something if i was using it often :)

Try roadside "bothal Paththara" collecting joints. There is one near Transmec-Peliyagoda.I bought a 30litre Aluminium can for just Rs 250 from there..they had few more but that was about 10-12 months back.just check.....and should mentioned the Austin car regd book I bought for Rs 2000 from the same place. :D

Thats why I mentioned that location. There are two more good joints. One in Katana, other near kelani bridge. But not sure about cans. You can find many good "gems" there you know!!

Try a service station? they usually have large cans for engine oil/transmission fluid etc

They may ask you a little money tho

Best to try the place you service your car, maybe they will give them free :)

let me check some places i know machan...i have some at my place but as they are heavy industrial type things i doubt it'll suite you...a coupla 30 ltr cans should do the trick neda.as anything over that is not ideal for a car trip...i'll let you know if i find something

thanks mate... following up on a lead tonight...hopefully it should work out...

and no machang this is not for a car trip... :)

I'm going to deep seas with a few friends on one of those outboard motored boats... Since we'll be trolling for about 12 hrs...the motor needs about 80 odd litres of Kero to drink :)

And i don't want to be sitting in a dead boat with no fuel nearly 100km's off the coast...

But the can has to fit in the boot of me car somehow cos i need to haul it loaded from my place to mount... :)
