Cold Starting Issue-engine Vibration

shehan123

Question

Dear All

I need your valuable ideas regarding my Suzuki Escudo petrol jeep. When I start the vehicle in the morning rmp will not go beyong 1000 and it will stop with a vibration. again I have to crank it and start the same. when I accelarate the vehiche it will not increase the rpm. But there is no problem after heating the engine. Also I feel some low pulling power of the engine while driving. I have changed all plugs and done the tuneup & services.

hmm...that sounds very much like a plug issue but since you've got new ones in and also a tuneup it's a lil weird...

the plugs...did you replace them with the same heat range? all plugs have a "heat range" so that they work well in different climates... I think if the plug is too "hot" rated it will take some time for it to reach is optimal operating temp and you might notice some hesitation until that happens...

but this is a long shot cos most plugs coming into SL are the ones that fit our climate...

And when you did the tuneup did they not diagnose this issue?

Another long shot theory is your spark plug leads... those too can be faulty and be the culprit for this...

After the engine getting hot it takes less of a spark to keep the motor going but you still wont be getting full power due to weak spark!

And another possibility is that the delco unit that has the ignition coil! Sometimes ignition coils also spring up issues and not give enough current out for a good spark.

This also can explain why you experience starting issue when cold, rpm not increasing until motor is warm and even after heating up the engine not really powering the vehicle up...

Have you done injector cleaning recently? those too can have some what similar issues when clogged

with my limited knowledge that's all i can think of :)

let's see what other folks have to say :)

you probably hav a low fuel pressure issue..

check the injectors

check the fuel pressure regulators - u shud chek dis first

or u must be havin a failing fuel pump or a weak fuel pump..

had a similar prob in ma subaru legacy.. replaced the pump..

best of luck..
