Sorry for bringing this up again.

I've been using Norton 360 - 3 user [need only 02 - but cheaper than buying 2 singles :)] for 2 years. No issues. Only 20 days to go- for it to expire. However just heard the 3 user is not available any more.

question is -- do you guys still recommend Kaspersky - as stated above? From where can I get it? I need a 2 user if available.

Thanks in advance.

Hi guys --there were several members who replied. [thanks] it would have got lost, as stated by Madz. However can someone tell me from where to purchase Kaspersky? thanks

You can try Unity Plaza.

And we use Kaspersky at work. It's not bad... although I would say it's a little paranoid. :) Better safe than sorry though. I've been using AVG at home for quite a while now. Can't complain. Does the job, and it's free! :D I've heard Avast is good as well.

Microsoft Security Essentials should also be considered, its free if u have a genuine copy of Windows

I have used it for over 6 months now no issues whatsoever, its not as resource hungry as other major virus guards

but if u are a heavy user downloading a lot of torrents etc Security Essentials is not for you

Use AVG9 Full version, just download the setup from the site. I'm downloading a lot from torrents and stuff, but no problem so far :) Even with the mahasona after getting it from a pen drive. And it updates too without problems. Instead of the free version key, just type in a key made for a company with lots of seats. You can find several on the net.

I used AVG (full version, pirated) for a while but it was disappointing... of course, I only realized it was letting virii through when I tried out another software (the problem with relying on user experiences is that unless there is any obvious symptoms, all software will look like they are catching attacks!)

currently I use Avast and happy with it... but one of the main reasons to switch was cos it supported Windows 7 x64 mode and at the time of evaluation (few months back) the other major contenders did not.

How about Avira free. Light weight and powerful. Its detection rate is 96%. And its the highest detection rate for any free or commercial version. Also AVG free got a lot of features.. :alc:

Hi Guys,

Since my Norton Internet Security is due for renewal next week I am thinking of switching the brand to Kaspersky as its lot cheaper than Norton. But I have always been with Norton can any one give me first hand experience about Kasper please. If its good for value I will switch. Or any other suggestions.

I used Kaspersky before, nearly one and half years but still my laptop infected with virus. Then a friend of mine advised me to use "microsoftessencials" antivirus software. I'm very happy now as it always protect my laptop. I did not have any problem with virus after that. Verry effective guard. You can download it free from the internet and it is from microsoft. Therefore it works fine with all windows software. Once you download it, it will updte update daily.

Go for it pal! I can fully recommend it.
