Cheers !! Mitsubishi Never made a pajero of any generation with a 3000cc Intercooled Turbodiesel. The "palath sabha" (or as the rest of the world knows it, first generation) Mitsubishi Pajero diesel came with the 2.3liter non turbo/Turbo (4D55) or the 2.5liter turbo diesel (4D56 both intercooled and non intercooled) ONLY Mitsubishi only introduced a bigger motor in the 2nd gen pajero ("intercooler" as it's known here). That was the 2.8 liter diesel (4M40) intercooled turbo. This engine was upgraded to a 3.2 Liter capacity with the 3rd generation pajero/montero, but there never was a 3.0l version. Looks like the seller has mistaken engine capacities, or else they've put in a a non mitsu engine. Mate, Why don't you give a call to the seller and get some first hand info. since it bears a 325 number, he might have done a Engine swap. The only person who could help u furthur is the owner, with the facts of the actual vehicle in question!

There IS a difference, the 2.8L engine is a competely different model, not simply an enlarged version of the 4D56 and was never intended to be fitted into this model of pajero, so you never know whether the Gearbox, differentials, mounts etc are up to the task. If this vehicle does have the 2.8 you'll have to check all those. IMO you'd be much better off going for a 2.5 turbo.
charitha19
agree with supra mate.. this version was made by the japs for a 2.5.. the 2.8 later one has a different chasis as well.. so u never know. but if he has done it properly and indeed its a 2.8 in a pajero that was meant for a 2.5.. u might get some thrills in it.... if thats ur thing.. but again i dont advice it...
