Help Me To Buy An Eg8

SJ_88

Recommended Posts

Single carb does about 11 kmpl in the city and about 13-14kmpl outstation, but it depends on the way you drive and the condition of the car.

Performance wise the Dual carb has more pickup but doesnt do much on petrol (about 9kmpl in the city).Anyway a Vtec would be better.

Honda gurus will shed some light on this topic.

dude,

can u tell me watz the difference between carb and vtec,

The carb cars have carburettors (Obviously). The vtecs have efi and also the Vtec system. Vtec cars generally perform better than both single and dual carb cars and are said to be as economical as single carb cars.

Fuller explanation of Vtec below.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VTEC

From personal experience we had with a single carb eg8 (Bone stock, bought b'new in 93 and used till 2000) I can tell you it did 10-11 in the city and 13-14 outstation. Of course that car was an original and unmolested example. Such cars are pretty hard to come by now thanks to the cultural upheaval caused post 2001 after this arrived: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fast_and_...ous_(2001_film)

guys thanx for your feedback,

then i gonna by an EG8,

cheers to HONDA

Im sure Honda will appreciate the cheers.

Word of advice though, Dont be fooled by cars that have a shiny paint job and a "Hot" looking bodykit/massive alloys etc. In 9 cases out of 10 the "modifications" will have a detrimental effect to the real world performance, economy and reliability of the car. If I were you I'd try and look for a car thats as close to standard as possible, and if you want to mod it, do it your way. At least then you'll know exactly what has been done and what hasn't.

Quick scan of the classifieds confirmed that its near impossible to find an unmolested original example for sale often.

something like this is a nice starting point i guess: http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=9371

Nevertheless, Personal tastes vary. The above is just my opinion.

Good luck mate.Im an ex-EG8 single carb user.Really enjoyed that.Had a figure 11-12 km/l in city.

One advice that you got to be very carefull when you spell Cheers to Honda...Honda Rocks etc That'll trigger hidden explosives.

My heart bleeds for these poor unjustly persecuted martyrs of the Honda way of life. It really does :sad-smiley-002: I mean, what have they done beside whine on every damn recent thread on how others muscle in on their conversations, and try to take the focus away from them? God knows they don't do that sorta thing and quietly stick to their corners and mind their own cars. :sad-smiley-040: So sad :sad-smiley-047:
