im in a confusion//..i have a week time to buy a car,,,i was planning to buy a honda eg8 but recently one of my frined confused my mind...sao i wanna clear this doubt guys..

but now my mind is swinging towards a 110 corolla(planning to put a few lahks on lease)..

comparing to a toyota 110 corolla are honda eg8 parts cheap over SL?DUH NO......

but what im asking is that is would the differrence come in double/triple figures?

ex-if a toyota part is for 9k how much would it cost to buy the same honda part?what would be the difference?huge or puny?

and pls lighten me up with the maintenance costs and are there available parts for the eg8 in the market ??

thanks alot giys...

EG 8 parts are lot cheaper than 110 parts.

You can find any part used or BN in Panchikawatte.Tec motors is Honda owners favourite shopping centre.

But...110 and EG8 are in two different leagues ne?

its not difficult to find parts and Its cheaper than 110

Tech motors provide almost all the Honda range car parts :)

The Egs were manufactured only upto 95

manufacturing of 110s started in 97 or 98

so difference in the YOM

yes maan.....i know thats the eg8 ans 110 are from different yom..

my point was that the expences of the parts and maintainance.

and about the prices are you guys serious???(EG8 PARTS<110 PARTS)

I MUST KILL THAT FRIEND.....he gave me some examples and one of that is a normal toyota shock would cost arnd 9k and a honda shock would cost around 20k...thats what made me confused..

Maintenance cost of an EG8 is not as astronomical as you think.I have never used a Toyota so i can't really comment on the price difference. The main problem with hondas is that parts are not freely available at every autoshop, so you's have to either get them from stafford or teck(spelling) motors.

If you manage to find a good EG,then you would only have to spend money on normal maintenance items like brake pads, etc. But due to the age of the car, you might have to spend some extra cash on running repairs as well. However, if you get your hand on a totally raped EG8, then expect to spend quite a lot in the long run.

To give you a rough idea,if you decide to get your brake pads from normal auto parts dealer, it would cost you about 1000-1200(2years ago) and the oil filter would cost you about 550-600(same timing)..genuine parts would cost you extra money but you'd have some peace in mind.Anyway, good luck..

ah almost forgot, make sure you check the suspension before you buy the car.. :)

thats alot mate....if im buying the eg8 before buying i would take it to the honda center(maradana) and take a full faulty report...

and then if we are convinced i would go for the buy..is that a wise choice(depending on the report)?

would the report point me wether its a retarded one or a good one?????

the report should give you a basic understanding about the car that you are about to buy. This will make sure that the car hasn't got any major issues, etc.I think stafford charged like 1500 for a check up back then.. However, it donesnt guarantee that the car would be perfect. After all its just another car and you'd have to do the repairs as and when they come up. cheers..:)

Ya kill, KYBs could be bought for 6-7k each

And about parts, am not sure there might be a big difference and you won't have to replace parts daily anyways

Prices of the parts are not much differ from other models. The only issue is unavailability in normal autoshops. But all the mechanical parts are available in Stafford and tech motors. Also all the body parts are available in Delkanda area.

Cheers!

If you maintained your car well and drive carefully you don't need to worry much about the spare parts unless in case of and accident. Have the car fully insured will sort this problem also.

Before you buy ensure you do full check up with professional guy so you can do rough estimate on other expenditure after you buy it.

Last 28 years i've seen my father used about 5 - 10 vehicles (Fiat, Ford, Nissan, Toyota, Mitsubishi) cars to vans to double cabs none of them had major parts issue, since all the vehicles maintained well.

So put spare part price lower in your order and bring resell value (if u not hoping to use long time), fuel consumption (if you get average monthly salary with other stuff to do), your personal taste (what makes you happy).. then bring the spare parts value after them. But as I said ensure you know what you buy .. before you pay for it. :)

If you use the genuine parts for the EG 8 There wont be a issue. The toyota parts are a little cheaper but the Honda genuine s last for a long time. I replaced the ball joints 3 years back and up to date no issue at all. Over all i believe that the EG 8 is the better car when you compare the 2 cars.
