i would say you go for a 110 facelift version (97-00) its a rock solid car IMO.

both are good cars from what i know with the exception that toyota would have more 2nd hand market and does better on fuel. drive both and see what your comfortable in driving and most appeal to you and then you can get into the details before you make a buy decision.

Two good cars. Yes it might be easier to sell the 110 but the FB15 is a newer model (right?). From experience FB15 has better ground clearance than 110 (I find my 110 grounding if I put 5 people and try to go over a hump, but not so with B15.

FB15's generally do around 8 - 9kmpl (from experience vs my friends car) mine does 10kmpl.

Maybe because mine's a Jap spec and yours a brand new import? It had 185/55R14s when I got it but changed to 185/65/14s there was a change but couldnt match my friends who was running the same tyre size. Must really check on this as I have seen older 91 series and 100series having the same clearance issues.

I will dispute :

less number of mis-used cars compared to FB15 : Reliability means people without knowledge of maintaining are more likely to get one, so it is possible that proper timely maintenance isn't done. Might not matter if they can take more abuse, but still, the statement is untrue. Besides, you'll never back it on stats.

Better known name / brand : Ummm..... Push comes to shove, this would be very difficult to justify. And again, you'd never justify on stats.

i think sunnys have got a fairly good reputation in sri lanka just like corollas.

Woah machang, I think they have more 110 in cab services than the Nissan's. So expect them to be clocked.

In both cases it will be very hard to find properly maintained ones like Peri says. And its true. You can get a 110 for around 1.2 - 1.3mil in nasty condition. Even the ones going for higher prices will have issues if they aren't properly maintained. Its all the same with popular japanese cars as they just mean a mode of transport from a -b for some people.

Toyota maybe the worlds most sold car but keep in mind that until the end 1990's they were no where near Nissan's in Sri Lanka. Due to the lethargy of agents (or sales and marketing) during the late 90's they lost a lot of the market. (Maybe because they were doing good with Maruti) I do hope they get their act together and come up with the newer models coming up. that ends history.

I personally drive a Corolla 110, but I wont say its the best car but then again I do have a soft spot towards Nissan's.

So in this case, what matters is what the person buying the car wants and its very hard to choose between the two for me.

That's cool mate. I think that's what we all should appreciate as "automobile fans". You may have a different view on a specific make, and I might have a different one. But what we all have in common is that "soft spot".

My first car was an ae100, so given the choice of a sunny and a corolla, I'll see more good in a corolla. Had it been a sunny, I may have had a different view.

Another thing - When my car breaks down, I look at it as a sick child, and I'd try to get it cured. But e.g. my father, who doesn't have that soft spot, gets angry, and kicks the wheel.. That's the difference..

So. PrasaP - go for anything in good condition. Both are good cars..!

Can't agree with you on this comparing to FB-15. I think recent years FB-15 has turned in to be one of the most reliable vehicle. 5 of my collegues/friends use them. None of the gave trouble up to now for last 2 , 3 years.

It's more or less personal taste. both 110 and FB15 has your boxy look. May be fb15 is little more compare to 110.

However if you are reffering to how models like Yaris, Nissa Tida (if correct) looks like.. then to me those are ugly. I think they tried to bring the coolness of the Hatch back and space of sedan (boxy) but end up with Alien spaceship like machine.

Just my opinion. There can be different tastes.

According to my personnal experiance ,i drive both vehicles but FB 15 is much more coolest that 110. also it biggest than 110 ,large space on interioir. I personnely say go for FB 15

You will never reach a conclusion for the question because both are highly popular vehicles. Both have excellent second hand market and spares are in plenty. So just find a car that is in good condition and which has been maintained well and buy it. I beleive you won't regret buying either model. There are plenty of happy owners of both models.

Totally agree with dis coment, AE 100 SE Limited Corolla One has more space dan 110. Also manual one has good fuel consumption dan above mentioned cars,Good looking too. I believe AE 100 SE Limited,White light,Gold badge one is much better dan FB 15 and AE 110.

These fancy features like white light, gold batch, etc. is not enough to prevent people going for newer 110 or a FB15 and buy the old AE100 you are mentioning

Oh absolutely. A rusted bicycle with white lights and gold Toyota badges are much better than FB15s and the like too.
